Been looking for a 8" pair of composite toes. Said I wouldn't go back to steel toes. They suck in the cold.

Went to 5 place. I got Red Wing King Toes, same as the 6" ones I bought last year. Place had 1/2 off second, so I bought an insulated pair too.

I was really hoping for some strange though. New boots to me, are filled with hope, like meeting a new woman.



So I heard about pick up joint west of Madison, about 130 miles, on Friday. Went there today. I was worried about getting there before closing, and failed to cypher the time back one. Arrived by cloak of darkness.

Took county Y south out of Lodi. Nice road, twisty road through some farming valleys, rough pavement though. Southern WI is alot nicer, west of 94.


Though I said I wouldn't, I bought a pair of Wolverine, steel toes, they fit better then the composites. Nice boot.

This one has me very intrigued. American made, Rocky, postal approved. All leather. Not safety toe. I never really think of Rockies for street boots. But the sole on these things bent in half, very flexible.

I can't wear dress shoes, no big loss, but I also think these could clean up nice. See if Dan still remembers how to polish boots.
